Being a team captain of a Formula Student teams is a huge chance for one’s personal and professional development but it also comes with a lot of responsibility. We want to support students in this position specifically by fostering the network among team captains and giving them the chance to discover how other teams work.
Once a year, usually at the beginning of December, we invite two students in leading positions from every team sponsored by VDE Nord e. V. on a short trip. This is to create space and time for intense exchange with other team captains far away from the day-to-day hustle in their teams. We visit a Formula Student team somewhere in Germany or Europe, talk to companies based in that city, and organise networking among the teams.
Previously, we’ve visited Braunschweig (DE), Berlin (DE), Vienna (AT), Tallinn (EE), Budapest (HU), Moscow (RU), and Poznan (PL).

The students come from various disciplines like engineering (electrical and mechanical), IT, marketing, management and organisation, media and communications, …. They are always curious to hear about opportunities for internships or graduate work and to get to know companies for entry-level jobs.
